Sangria is a Spanish medium-alcoholic drink based on wine (more often – red) with the addition of fruit pieces, berries, sugar, as well as a small amount of brandy and dry liqueur, and sometimes spices.
Fruit collectors, to save from the heat, wore a wineskin with red wine diluted with spring water. In the same wineskin, they squeezed the juice of fresh oranges, collected directly from the plantations, on which the peasants worked. Over time, other fruits were added to sangria, and a few years later the recipe for a wonderful cocktail was finally formed.
In Italy, at the beginning of the last century, it also became fashionable to mix sparkling wines with fruit juices and spices, resulting in sparkling sangria, which was more fresh taste and a subtle fruity-floral aroma.
You can make Sangria from a wide variety of ingredients.
Of course, there is no clear line between them. Everything depends on imagination and possibilities, it is difficult to add an “incorrect” ingredient to it. The beauty of sangria is that the drink will be tasty and light. Its taste only improves, whatever it is added to. Each Spanish family has its own recipe for a drink, which is passed down from generation to generation.

White sangria is my favorite!
I love white wine more than red and this Summer white berry peach sangria recipe is my favorite. What could be better in summer than cooling berry wine? You can add any fruits and berries – it does not spoil sangria.
If we go with my husband for dinner in a cafe after a summer work day I prefer to drink a glass of white sangria and relax discussing our future plans or remembering funny stories.
Berries and fruits give sourness and sweetness at the same time, so I do not add sugar there. As for me, it is so full, but you can add a sweetener to your mood.
You need to crush all the fruits and refrigerate sangria for at least a few hours so that it is absorbed with aromas and combined with berries
You can also use red wine if you like it more than white wine.
I recommend you watching my video of this recipe so you won’t miss any step.
